Professors, researchers and members of staff email


The centralized email messaging service supply its users with some communication tools, such as:

  • A personal email address
  • Shared mailboxes (on request)
  • Calendar
  • Address Book (Contacts)

The service for email communication the University of Trento makes available consists in a personal and free email address, provided by the Google Educational Platform.

All professors, researchers, staff members etc. are entitled to a UniTrento email account. Official university communications are sent to University email addresses according to the AUP of GARR and to university regulations.

For the entire career at UniTrento (except for specific cases) the email address will be in the form of name.surname [at] unitn.it (or similar). The storage space of the mailbox is unlimited.


UniTrento account deletion

Following the user’s resignation, the university email account is still active, but the email address becomes

  • name.surname [at] ex-staff.unitn.it

Once the working relationship is over, the email address @unitn.it will still be active for 180 days. On the contrary, if the same user enters into a new contract the “ex-staff email address” will be not valid anymore, and the user will be given the email address in the form @unitn.it again. 


Other Google Applications

UniTrento supply all its professors, researchers and members of staff with all the Google Applications available on the Google for Education platform.

You can easily access the Google Applications by using the Google Apps widget available on MyUnitn.

Please have a look at the FAQs for further instructions and suggestions.

We suggest you to use Chrome Browser in order to take full advantage of the Google Apps Service. As regards the email messaging service, Google is compatible with the Internet standard protocols POP and IMAP, though features are reduced in this case.

Google itself provides the users with Anti-spam and Antivirus support.

Get Service 

The service is targeted to all staff of the University of Trento, apart from students. The request of a new mailbox may be submitted to the relevant Office for User support.

Come faccio a installare il widget Google Apps in MyUnitn?

Il widget Google Apps è sempre presente in MyUnitn, non è necessaria l'installazione.

Sono un contrattista, ho un account (username) UniTrento ma non ho un indirizzo email @unitn.it. A chi posso chiederlo?

Le caselle di posta @unitn.it non generate in automatico possono essere richieste al Supporto IT di riferimento, aprendo un ticket su https://servicedesk.unitn.it/
