Google Meet: new features

In recent months Google has released new features for Meet. Below the most important with the in-depth link:

• Additional language support for live captions in Google Meet on Android and iOS devices

• Expanded tile view layouts for Google Meet on iOS and Android

• Check of Audio-video capabilities

• Connection and performance analysis tools

• End a Google Meet video call for everyone at once

• Mute all Google Meet participants at once

• Rapid access management for scheduled Meet in Calendar 

For this last new feature we highlight the Quick Access feature (Fig. 2) which allows you to set more restrictions of access to the meeting directly from the scheduling settings in Calendar(Fig. 1):

Disabling this functionality (= the checkbox is flag-free) means that:

• the organizer must be the first to participate

• only people invited by the organizer can participate without requesting permission

• all other users must ask to participate

• persons cannot participate anonymously
