We point out that some users of Unitrento are receiving these days misleading emails ("scam") in which an apparently known interlocutor urgently asks to be contacted for help with texts similar to these:
Ciao sei disponibile?
Per favore, ho bisogno urgentemente della tua assistenza
Or:
Grazie per la tua risposta, per favore sono in riunione in questo momento, ecco perché ti sto contattando tramite qui Avrei dovuto chiamarti ma il telefono non può essere usato durante la riunione Non so quando la riunione sarà in tondo su e voglio che tu mi aiuti su qualcosa di molto importante subito se c'è qualche negozio di alimentari vicino a te
In these cases, we invite you to:
- look closely at the sender of the message to make sure that their name and email address match
- check for typos or bizarre forms in the text (eg "Non so quando la riunione sarà in tondo") due to a careless use of automatic translators
- consider any inconsistency of the request (eg "qualcosa di molto importante subito se c'è qualche negozio di alimentari vicino a te")
If you have any doubt that the email is not reliable, we suggest you to verify the request by contacting the interlocutor through other channels (not with a reply to the email received) and report the case to the UniTrento IT security service, cert@unitn.it
