Protocollo Informatico Trentino

UniTrento is doing its utmost to manage and store all the electronic documents internally produced, with a view to adapting to the new digital first approach promoted by the CAD (Digital Administration Code). On one side, we aim at providing single users or homogeneous groups of users with clearly organised and customised reservoirs of documents; on the other, it is necessary to comply with the formal protocol and to retain documents as required by the law.

This information system allows to manage the protocol, lists of measures taken, documentary workflows in the administration and the storage of administrative documents which will become property of the University.

PITre is a web application that allows the retaining of the protocol register, the management of document flows as well as the activities of collating and archiving the administrative documentation of the University of Trento. The same tool is also adopted by the main public administrations and other institutions active in the Trentino area: Autonomous Province of Trento, Provincial Health Services Agency, Municipality of Trento and many municipalities in the province, Autonomous Region of Trentino Alto Adige, Provincial Council, Information Technology Trentino, etc.

Specifically, this system guarantees the integrity and the non-modifiability of the records on the protocol register - public document attesting the existence of a document within the documentary assets of an institution from the date of registration on this channel. It also allows the registration of other document types, such as, for example, decrees and determinations, on alternatives to the protocol register. The system manages the documentary flows inside the administration, allowing, finally, the correct filing of the documentation according to the classification title adopted at the university.

PITre is open to all technical-administrative staff, who can access it and work with authorization profiles linked to the role held within the administrative structure (according to an access control system: access control list - ACL). The system responds to the interoperability characteristics recalled by the Digital Administration Code (Law 822005): it allows, for example, the management and shipment of digital documents through the integration with certified electronic mail - PEC. It also allows an exchange of digital documentation between the institutions that adopt it through a channel called simplified interoperability.
